Ratings: 2018 Billboard Music Awards Down From Last Year’s ABC Broadcast
NBC’s first crack at the Billboard Music Awards saw a decline from last year, when the broadcast special still aired on ABC.
Still, NBC easily finished No. 1 among adults 18-49 on Sunday. CBS averaged the largest overall audience last night, airing its season finales for “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Madam Secretary.”
Though more-accurate final Nielsen numbers for the BBMAs should become available shortly, for now, we can currently compare last night’s initial 2.1 rating/8 share in the key 18-49 demographic and its 7 million total viewers with 2017’s 2.3 and 7.7 million viewers. This year’s version will likely end up as an all-time low in the demo, but probably not among total viewers.
