Dustin Fowler, center fielder of future, makes A’s debut in latest loss to Astros
Eleven months after his first big-league game, Dustin Fowler finally got his first big-league at-bat.
So no more comparisons with Moonlight Graham, who famously played one inning in 1905 but never got to hit.
Fowler’s at-bat wasn’t exactly how he envisioned it when he suited up on June 29 for his major-league debut with the Yankees. Fowler never made it out of the first inning, thanks to a knee injury that began a series of events that landed him in the A’s organization.
Fowler was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday but didn’t arrive at the Coliseum in time to start.
