Woman pleads guilty to bank robberies
BOSTON (AP) — A local woman has pleaded guilty in a Boston federal court to robbing two banks in the area, sometimes in the company of a man known as the "Route 128 Bandit."
Prosecutors say 37-year-old Tamea Chambers pleaded guilty to two counts of bank robbery Tuesday in connection to the robberies of the East Boston Savings Bank and a branch of Bank of America in October 2017.
In both robberies, Chambers demanded money from tellers and stated she had a gun, prompting them to give her the cash.
Area video footage shows Chambers with Paul Landrum, dubbed the "Route 128 Bandit," by law enforcement for his role in other bank robberies.
