Getting the help you need in the NHS system - Mental Health

How can we get the help we need when we are within England\'s NHS system? Mags shares her story of how she started with her GP and got referred to a depression and anxiety team. On the way to that appointment, she attempted suicide and ended up with the Crisis Team. From there she was offered a support worker and a CPN. They helped get her on the right lists and referred for psychotherapy. It took Mags about 2 years to get referred to see a therapist within the Mental Health System and even longer to get financial assistance, housing, and other important resources. \n\nHer message is powerful and she urges you that if you need help, get it. She also talks about how many of the programs make it sound like they are only for those with physical disabilities, but they are NOT! They are the same ones that those with mental health issues can receive, so make sure you ask the right questions and keep pushing! Even if you are denied at first most of those denials are reversed when we appeal. So don\'t give up!
