The Columbus police department said Karageorge, who was reported missing on Wednesday, was found in a dumpster not far from his apartment where he was last seen. Police said the preliminary investigation shows the walk-on senior defensive lineman died from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A gun was recovered at the scene, police said. Karageorge, who was 22, missed practice after disappearing and had not been seen since leaving his apartment in dark clothing at 2 a.m. on Wednesday. His sister told The Columbus Dispatch that his roommates said he was leaving to take a walk. He had some extenuating circumstances that night that lead us to believe he was upset, Sophia Karageorge told the paper. She said her brother, a former wrestler, had a history of sport-related concussions and that the family was very concerned that hes not himself and that he maybe doesnt know whats going on.
