Germany targets New Year's parties, sports in new COVID curbs

‘Calendar of extraordinary women’ to raise funds for women and children in need

The Women for Women Foundation has created a calendar of 12 "ordinary" women who do extraordinary things, with all funds going towards supporting women and children in need. Ex-F1 driver Alesi faces court date for ‘bad joke’ explosion

Ex-Formula 1 driver Jean Alesi faces a 2023 court appearance after blowing up his brother-in-law’s window with a firecracker in what the former driver called a “bad joke”, AFP learned from the prosecutor’s office on Tuesday. Alesi, 57, will be tried at the Nimes magistrate’s court “for damaging the property of others by a means dangerous to people, committed in the context of a family conflict”, the local public prosecutor Eric Maurel told AFP. Inter and Milan announce new ‘Cathedral’ San Siro project

Inter and AC Milan revealed on Tuesday what their new shared home could look like after announcing a project designed by Populous, who drew up the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. People who test positive to COVID-19 have to quarantine - authorities

The health authorities reminded the public on Tuesday that people who positive for COVID-19 should isolate immediately and go into obligatory quarantine for 14 days. All other people living in the same household must do the same. The statement was published after 386 new COVID-19 infections were reported earlier in the day, the second-highest daily total registered in Malta since the start of the pandemic. PN cancels public's Christmas greetings

The Nationalist Party has cancelled Bernard Grech’s public greetings with the public in view of the rising number of cases of COVID-19. Details of €20 million money laundering operation heard in court

Four Libyans charged with money laundering and tax evasion amounting to more than €20 million were leaving and entering the country with cash linked to the purchase of luxury cars, jewellery and branded clothing, among other goods. Most of the money was being taken to Turkey, a court heard on Tuesday. In November, the police said they had seized two luxurious vehicles, €100,000 in cash, a considerable amount of jewellery and branded clothing, foreign number plates, and electronic equipment, which includes mobile phones and computers. Memories portrayed through art

Updated 4.50pm A man died on Tuesday in a workplace accident inside an underground tank at Ħas-Saptan. A 25-year-old man on Tuesday denied murdering British MP David Amess, who was stabbed to death while meeting constituents earlier this year. At a hearing at the Old Bailey court in central London, Ali Harbi Ali pleaded not guilty to murder and preparing acts of terrorism.
