Teen girl among 8 shot in Englewood, 2 fatally: police
A 14-year-old girl was among eight people shot in the 6100 block of South Carpenter Street, police said. At least two people have been pronounced dead.
Eight people were shot, at least two of them fatally, Saturday in Englewood on the South Side.
The shooting happened about 11:35 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Carpenter Street, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.
One of the victims was a 14-year-old girl, according to a tweet from police spokesman Tom Ahern. Her condition was not specified.
Two of the victims have been pronounced dead, but their ages and genders were not immediately clear, police said.
