LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man wanted on suspicion of an armed sexual assault in Los Angeles last year was added Thursday to the FBI's list of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives. The FBI also announced a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading directly to the arrest of Greg Alyn Carlson, 46, who detectives believe is likely responsible for additional sexual assaults. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Charlottesville says it spent more than $921,000 on public safety work related to the one-year anniversary of the deadly white nationalist rally. The city released a cost estimate Thursday and said it filed a notice with the state earlier this month indicating that it's interested in applying for emergency relief. Officials say more than 375 city employees were involved in public safety operations and the city spent $600,000 more this year than last, in part, because they anticipated a full weekend of activities. DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa has reached a record number of pigs on farms as the pork industry continues to expand production amid questionable export demand due to tariff battles with China. The U.S. Department of Agriculture said Thursday Iowa has 23.6 million pigs on farms as of Sept. 1, an increase of 4 percent from the previous year and the highest number recorded. DALLAS (AP) — A hung jury has forced a mistrial in the case of a former suburban Dallas police officer charged in the shooting of an unarmed black man. The Dallas County jury reported itself deadlocked Thursday after 10 hours of deliberation over two days in the trial of Derick Wiley. (AP) — North Carolina prison officials slashed the pay of two top administrators who had leadership responsibilities at a lockup where four employees were killed last year during the deadliest breakout attempt in state history. LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — The former owner of a Maine Thai restaurant had pleaded guilty to underreporting $2.5 million in earnings over a dozen years. The Sun Journal reports that 51-year-old Junlong Bunleng pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges including tax evasion and failing to truthfully collect and pay sales tax. Bunleng couldn't be reached Thursday for comment. Bunleng owned and managed Pepper & Spice Thai Cuisine restaurant for 12 years. The restaurant closed last fall due to health violations.
