JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) — A law firm says a Georgia jury has awarded $31 million to a boy for a botched circumcision he received as a newborn. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the award was handed down Friday in northern Georgia's Clayton County. A lawsuit filed by the boy's family says he was 18 days old in October 2013 when part of his penis was severed during a circumcision at Life Cycle Pediatrics in Riverdale. KITTITAS, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say four people were hospitalized after an armored vehicle went over a 25-foot cliff during a military exercise in central Washington state. The green and tan 2018 Military Stryker crashed about 4:30 a.m. Saturday on an unnamed dirt road near Kittitas. BOSTON (AP) — Boston police say an officer has been shot in the city's South End but does not have life-threatening injuries. Officer James Moccia told the Boston Globe on Sunday the officer was called to investigate at a residential address. It wasn't immediately clear why police were called to the address. VISALIA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say police officers shot and wounded an armed suspect who fired at them after robbing a convenience store in central California. Police were called Saturday following reports that someone had fired several shots in the air as part of a family disturbance outside the store in Visalia. COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Fatal drug overdoses increased to a record 4,854 last year in Ohio, a 20 percent rise compared with the previous year, according to information reported to the state. Data on unintentional drug deaths provided to the Ohio Department of Health show 2017 was the eighth year in a row that drug deaths increased, The Columbus Dispatch reported Sunday. AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Suicide is on the rise in Maine and the state is offering free online training for doctors and counselors. The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention says a new training portal provides training in suicide risk screening, intervention, treatment and support. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among Maine youth and adults ages 10 to 35. Maine's rates of suicide death have increased by 27 percent from 1999 through 2016.
