PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — Fifty years after it was seized by North Korea, the USS Pueblo is the only U.S. Navy ship held captive by a foreign government. And though mostly forgotten in the United States, the "Pueblo Incident" for North Korea remains a potent symbol of military success. The spy ship and captured 50 years ago this week sits in a frozen river on the edge of the "Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum" in Pyongyang, where thousands of North Koreans are brought each day to hear... Four picked for Hall of Fame —Barry Bonds not one of them

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

Coming off a season-low-tying, three-point effort against Arizona last week, Darius McNeill sat down with the Cal coaching staff to do some binge-watching. I was timid. I was unsure. “I was trying to... Читать дальше...

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — It wasn't only Democratic-leaning counties in Oregon that voted to impose a tax on hospitals and health insurers to pay for Medicaid for low-income residents — several counties that voted for Donald Trump also helped propel the ballot measure to resounding "yes" vote. As president, Trump endorsed Republican bills to repeal the Affordable Care Act's expansion of Medicaid. Oregon did the opposite on Tuesday when it expanded funding of Medicaid, making up for a drop in the federal government's share and covering more children. Читать дальше...

Idaho says no Obamacare needed for some new insurance plans

«SFGate» (sfgate.com)

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Concerned about soaring health care costs, Idaho on Wednesday revealed a plan that will allow insurance companies to sell cheap policies that ditch key provisions of the Affordable Care Act. It's believed to be the first state to take formal steps without prior federal approval for creating policies that do not comply with the Obama-era health care law. Health care experts say the move is legally dubious, a concern supported by internal records obtained by The Associated Press. Читать дальше...
