Greek court rules to extradite 3 of 8 Turkish servicemen

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — A Greek court has agreed to the extradition of three of Turkish servicemen from a group of eight who fled to Greece after a failed July 15 military coup, a day after rejecting Turkey's extradition request for three others. The Athens council of appeals judges approved Turkey's extradition request for three of the group Tuesday on charges of being involved in the coup, attempting to impede a parliamentary session and the seizure of a helicopter.



Fraternity backs Indiana State chapter probation after death

(AP) — A fraternity says it supports a decision by Indiana State University to place one of its chapters on probation following the accidental drowning of an 18-year-old freshman during an event in Illinois. Sigma Chi Fraternity International's Executive Director Michael J. Church says in an emailed statement that its members are mourning Yiorgo Karnezis' Oct. 23 death and the fraternity is "grateful for the partnership and continued support" of the university.

The Latest: Artist colony founder: Warehouse is mass grave

The founder of an Oakland artists' colony where dozens of people burned to death says he is sorry, but deflected blame for the blaze that gutted the warehouse that he now describes as a "mass grave." Derick Ion Almena, who leased and operated the warehouse full of artists where the fire erupted Friday, told the Today Show on Tuesday that he was 'Incredibly sorry. Almena says he lived in the warehouse with his family and other residents, but said he didn't make a profit.

Public school report cards under renewed scrutiny by panel

Police officer charged with slapping man dressed as bunny

HOPATCONG, N.J. (AP) — A police officer accused of slapping a man who was wearing a bunny costume and was blowing an air horn inside a police station has been charged with assault. Jason Hemmerich said his brother went to the police station to turn himself in on a warrant related to a motor vehicle accident. Kevin Hemmerich faced an arrest warrant for not completing a work program that was in lieu of jail time for failing to have car insurance.



Sheriff: Alabama burglary suspect was naked when captured

(AP) — Authorities in Alabama say a man charged with burglary was naked when he was taken into custody. DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris tells al.com (http://bit.ly/2hbdSEP) that 40-year-old Mark Tucker, of Flat Rock, is charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, breaking into a vehicle and attempted murder.

Presidential recount in Michigan expands to Detroit area
