The Latest: Wisconsin recount nears end; Michigan's halted

The state Elections Commission reported Thursday that more than 82 percent of the vote had been counted by the close of business on Wednesday, and that Democrat Hillary Clinton had gained just 61 votes on Republican Donald Trump. A hearing in federal court was scheduled for Friday on a lawsuit filed by a Trump voter and two pro-Trump super PACs seeking an end to the recount. John Glenn, Astronaut and US Senator, Dies at 95

John Glenn, former NASA astronaut and U.S. senator from Ohio, died on Thursday at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, according to the Associated Press. A Marine pilot who flew 59 successful missions in World War II, Glenn went on to become the oldest person to enter space in 1998. Glenn is depicted in this month’s awards-bait film “Hidden Figures,” which stars Taraji P.
