Mel Gibson to Direct ‘Wild Bunch’ Remake for Warner Bros.
Mel Gibson has signed on to direct, executive produce, and co-write a remake of Sam Peckinpah’s classic Western “Wild Bunch,” a person with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.
Released in 1969 and starring William Holden and Ernest Borgnine, “Wild Bunch” follows a group of aging outlaws trying to go for one last heist in the dying days of the Wild West. Gibson will co-write his version with Bryan Bagby.
