All lanes of northbound 280 reopened after bus fire in South San Francisco
All Interstate-280 northbound lanes are now open near the Avalon Drive off-ramp in South San Francisco after officials contained a bus fire Friday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol was alerted of the bus engulfed in flames around 5:30 p.m. Friday, officials said.
Bus passengers were escorted off the bus and picked up by another bus, according to the California Highway Patrol. It is unknown if there were any reported injuries.
Multiple lanes were closed for more than two hours while officials worked to contain the fire and clear the scene Friday night.
The Avalon Drive off-ramp remained closed as of 7:11 p.m. Travelers may expect delays in the area.
