Stanford’s hard-luck Wilson watches the Big Dance (again) from the bench
If the Stanford women beat Florida Gulf Coast on Monday night at Maples Pavilion, they’ll reach the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament for the 11th straight year.
And for the second straight year, Anna Wilson won’t be playing.
The hard-luck guard is recovering from a stress reaction in her left foot. A stress reaction is sort of a precursor to a stress fracture. Last year, as a freshman, she missed 11 games because of a concussion she received in practice for the McDonald’s All-American game, which features the best high school players in the country.
When Pac-12 play started last year, she played five games before a stress fracture in her right foot put her out for the rest of the season.
