NY Legislature returns, faces tough choices on budget, MTA
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York lawmakers and Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo are getting back to work this week in Albany.
The Legislature will begin its 2018 session Wednesday. Cuomo will deliver his State of the State address the same day.
This year's big challenges include a $4 billion budget deficit and debates about funding big investments in New York City's aging subway system.
Lawmakers will also debate ways to combat sexual harassment and a proposal to loosen the statute of limitations for child molestation so victims can sue for decades-old abuse.
Meanwhile, Democrats will look for ways to push back against Washington Republicans.
