The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the deadly ISIS attack in Kandahar as a “terrorist attack” and strongly denounced it. The ministry, in a statement on Friday, wrote that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Islamabad emphasized that terrorism is a common concern both countries must address through collective efforts. The bloody attack on Thursday in Kandahar, the Taliban’s power center, targeting a gathering of Taliban members outside Kabul Bank, has faced widespread condemnation.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemned the bloody attack on Thursday in Kandahar. UNAMA, without specifying casualties among military or civilian personnel in this attack, said that dozens were killed and wounded in the ISIS attack in Kandahar.
The UN agency, on Friday, wrote on social media platform X, “Such reprehensible acts should have no place in Afghanistan, whether during Ramadan or at any other time.”
According to Taliban officials, the explosion left at least three dead and 12 injured, while sources in the Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar assert that at least 43 were dead. However, there is still no precise information about the casualties of the Kabul explosion.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack in Kandahar. According to a statement released by ISIS, this attack was carried out on “a gathering of Taliban members who had come to the bank to collect their salaries.”
