The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, is running dangerously low on money for disaster relief just as the historic Hurricane Irma is barreling towards Florida, but there's help on the way.

The FEMA disaster relief fund has seen its coffers dwindle to a little over $1 billion over the past few weeks as it dealt with the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey. Of that money, according to Bloomberg, only $541 million was "immediately available" as of Tuesday. Читать дальше...

Equifax said personal details of up to 143 million US consumers were potentially accessed by hackers between mid-May and July. Its shares fell 6% following the disclosure.

The company said criminals had accessed details including names and social security numbers. Credit card numbers for about 209,000 people, and certain documents for another 182,000 were also accessed. Bodycam footage released by Ohio's Clark County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday shows a deputy shooting a photographer who was unloading his camera tripod from his vehicle, apparently mistaking the equipment for a weapon.

The S&P 500 and Down Jones Industrial average slipped on Thursday, while the Nasdaq ended the slightly higher.

A spike in jobless claims as a result of Hurricane Harvey caused both the dollar and the 10-year yield to drop.

The greenback fell 0.8% to 91.55 versus a basket of its peers and finished at its lowest level since January 2015.  

Meanwhile, the 10-year yield sank 5 basis points to 2.05%, ending at its lowest level since the election.

Ferrari may be one of the S&P 500’s best performing stocks this year — up 84% since January 1 — but “things have changed,” according to Morgan Stanley.
