White House counselor Kellyanne Conway violated federal law when she weighed in on Alabama's special Senate election in two televised interviews last fall, the U.S. Official of Special Counsel said Tuesday. Conway appeared in interviews on Fox News' Fox & Friends and CNN's New Day in which she urged voters to support Republican candidate Roy Moore over Democrat Doug Jones, the contest's eventual winner. Nashville Mayor Megan Barry (D) agreed to resign Tuesday, a month after admitting to having an affair with her then-bodyguard, Sgt. Robert Forrest, The Associated Press reports. Barry's resignation is part of her plea deal to a charge of felony theft of more than $10,000; Nashville's City Council had been investigating if she misappropriated thousands of dollars of public funds related to the affair, The Tennessean reports.

Dating app Bumble will no longer allow users to upload pictures that include guns, the company announced in a blog post Monday night. Moderators of the popular app will scour the existing profiles of nearly 30 million users to flag any photo that includes a deadly weapon, like a knife or firearm, for removal.

Some conservative lawmakers, along with first daughter Ivanka Trump, are contemplating a scheme to use Social Security funds to help new parents take paid time off from work. It's a clever idea that certainly avoids some of the problems with rival parental leave plans. Still, this is a flawed proposal that'll do more harm than good, including to its intended beneficiaries.

Normally, attorneys tell their clients who have been subpoenaed to keep their mouths shut. Of course, these are not normal times. No part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible collusion from the Trump campaign has been normal. Working from home can be a lonely gig for social butterflies like me. I crave human interaction and enjoy a bit of banter during the day.
