Warriors to donate additional $75,000 to Oakland Fire relief
LOS ANGELES — Golden State players and coaches are donating $75,000 to the ongoing relief efforts for the fatal Oakland warehouse fire, the team announced Wednesday afternoon.
“As a team that calls the Bay Area our home, we are all devastated by this tragedy that took place right in our community,” forward Draymond Green said in a news release.
In addition to the $75,000 pledge, the team has already donated $50,000 to a YouCaring.com fund working directly with the city and the American Red Cross.
Thirty-six people were killed after a fire, which ignited around 11:30 p.m. Friday, tore through a two-story artists collective in Oakland packed with people attending a music party.
