Yes we certainly played our get out of jail card. Yes it might have been a poor performance but we battled till the end against a very solid Swinton side and eventually wore them down and just managed to get the 2 points. They do seem our bogy side and I was just relieved to get the win in the end.
Chester Butler once again got the Shay Lounge MOM and 3 points along with the Hitman award 2nd with 2 points was Will Sharp who was the sponsors MOM. 3rd and 1 point went to Shane Grady. Chester now... Читать дальше...

Boring, slow, whistle, inconsistent refereeing, diving, cheating, arguing with the referee, crude chanting, lacklustre play from elite players, players not at the standard these clubs should attract and a terrible production and commentary for the television audience.

The play was directly in front of me, but the ref possibly wasn't in the best position when the ball was grounded. If it's a mistake on the ref's part I'm Ok with that (but shows why we need goal line officials in all games!) but was curious what the rules say in this scenario?

In the Fax game this last weekend, a try/no try scenario occurred that I'm sure has happened before, but I can't remember the outcome.
The play finished just in front of me, and tbh I probably had a better initial view of it than any of the officials had on the field. It was the last tackle, and the ball was grounded by the attacking player an inch or two short of the whitewash. There was no secondary motion, just a natural rolling forward of the ball onto the whitewash, but the decision was "no try". Читать дальше...

George King, Patton, Mitch Brown and maybe Louis Johnson???

Another win. Hope Crooks’s noggin proves okay.
Down to business:
It’s Kevin Keegan 1990s rant week as Cokey, Pubbers & Wanderer all posted “I’d bl00dy (‘ave) Lovett.” They were all proved correct and are entitled to flourish this week’s BANZAI boners like samurai swords. Twenty points to each.
HOWEVER the WWB wasn’t to be settled so easily. Same nine posters this week (VL – you are doing yourself no favours by posting late every week – there is indeed a time difference ‘twixt the UK & Canada... Читать дальше...

As copped a grade D charge, abuse of an official. Doesn’t look like he will be kicking us all over the park in a couple of weeks.

Most of the players have done ok or better in the past, but that is in the past. We seriously lack pace, players look unfit and do not appear to believe in what they are being asked to do.
That is in my opinion a coaching issue, an issue that has not been rectified by moving from Stone to Thorman, albeit a glimpse of better times v Leeds. Hairdryer motivation has a short shelf life, particularly if you go public about it.
I think a genuinely new coach rather than a promotion is a must.

Pauli Pauli played well against Cas and seemed to go off due to injury against Leeds, why do you assume he dropped him for the reason you suggest? I wouldn't play him in the halves. I don't think his passing his good enough (in his defence he doesn't get a lot of practise) and threw a few forwards and dodgy balls. Having said that I don't know where I would play him. I'm starting edging towards centre, or Loose, but only cause I want him getting ball in attacking areas
A non passing half back would stifle the likes of Martin and Tali

Got to give Chris Chester credit for a couple of big calls re selection yesterday. I think the dropping of Paulie Paulie was a very obvious call to make but still needed to be made, as identified by several on here over the weeks his defense is imply not up to standard and we cannot afford to carry him. Again as noted by many on here Arundel needs to play, Lyne and Arundel are our best centres, Toupou has to play so dropping TJ and playing BT on the wing was an excellent option. So well done CC, a big call that has worked well. Читать дальше...
