Being a judge on "American Idol" has really paid off for Jennifer Lopez.

The singer recently purchased a new home in the quiet Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air. She dropped $28 million on the mansion, but, to be fair, that's down from the original $39,995,000 asking price, according to Curbed.

Check out Lopez's lavish new compound:

The house spans 13,932 square feet.

This job at Twitter has been compared to a jinxed teaching gig in 'Harry Potter' (TWTR)

BusinessInsider.com

REUTERS/Lucas Jackson

Product chiefs at Twitter don't seem to last very long. In fact, the job has such a high turnover rate that it's been likened to the "jinxed" Defense Against the Dark Arts teaching position in the Harry Potter series.

In a new feature on Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Vanity Fair's Nick Bilton reports:

Every single product chief at Twitter — seven or eight people, depending on how you count — has been fired or forced to resign over the past decade. One former... Читать дальше...

While fast-food chains across the US are making major investments in delivery, mobile ordering, and employee-replacing robots, many companies are forgetting the most important part of business — the customer.

"What I see with a lot of QSRs is 'me too,'" Chris Caldwell, KFC's chief information officer, told Business Insider in an interview about tech in the quick-service restaurant business. "They're doing it because someone else is doing it. They don't really understand the results... Читать дальше...

The crusade against salt is back on.

In new draft guidelines out Wednesday, the FDA proposed that the food industry should try to help limit consumption of salt from an average daily intake of 3,400 milligrams per day down by a third to 2,300 milligrams per day.

The guidelines are voluntary, which means restaurants and food companies don't necessarily have to comply; they're simply being urged to. The suggested limits have been a long time coming: The FDA first... Читать дальше...

The man behind HBO's virtual reality bet says these new glasses could replace going to a movie theater

BusinessInsider.com

ODG

One of the big complaints people have about the current crop of virtual reality glasses, like Oculus for instance, is that the resolution can be disappointing. When you walk around in Oculus’ virtual world, it feels completely immersive, but still a bit cartoonish. If you look closely, you can literally make out the pixels.

Jules Urbach, the CEO of $300 million VR pioneer OTOY, has run into this problem over and over again. OTOY makes a suite of software that powers VR experiences... Читать дальше...
