Trump announces FEMA will send protective equipment to nursing homes
President Donald Trump on Thursday said the Federal Emergency Management Agency will send supplemental shipments of personal protective equipment to more than 15,000 Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing homes. Speaking at the White House, Trump also announced the creation of a commission on nursing-home safety that he said will convene in May. Nursing homes have been hard hit by the COVID-19 outbreak, and Trump said the administration is "not happy" about how they have suffered during the pandemic.
