The Sun revealed today how ministers fear hairdressers will have to remain shut for six more months because of the coronavirus pandemic.
John Lewis had a 200 per cent surge in demand for clippers with six brands — including Wahl, Philips and Remington — all “currently unavailable”.
Po Lon Corrigan, from the chain, said: “We’ve seen unprecedented demand.
“We are working hard with suppliers to have new stock coming in on a regular basis.”
All such products on Boots.com were either listed as “Sold Out” or had “Stock Coming Soon” labels.
A Boots spokesperson said: “Some of our lines are currently out of stock but we do have stock coming through the supply chain each week.
“It is, however, selling quickly when it arrives.”
