Dobby the house-elf was incredibly loved by fans of the Harry Potter series, and for good reason. This character was constantly trying to help Harry Potter and had the purest intentions of arguably any character in the series.
This character saved Harry and his friend's lives multiple times throughout the series, and his death was one of the saddest scenes in the films. Many fans have paid tribute to this character is different ways, one of them being with tattoos!
10 Dobby Has No Master
Dobby the house-elf was not a free elf when fans were introduced to this character. Fans were first introduced to Dobby in the second Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and in this film, it became clear that he was the house-elf to the Malfoy family. He was freed at the end of the film by Harry Potter. This tattoo shows an iconic quote from Dobby in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, "Dobby has no master. Dobby is a free elf," which was said in response to a comment made by Bellatrix Lestrange about Dobby disobeying his masters. This tattoo is an incredible tribute to Dobby!

Dobby the house-elf was enslaved by the Malfoy family. This came to light in the second Harry Potter film when Dobby came to warn Harry Potter about dangers at Hogwarts that he had overheard from his masters. Although Harry was unclear of who Dobby's masters were, it was revealed at the end of the film when Lucius Malfoy ordered Dobby around. It was at this time that Harry snuck a sock into Tom Riddle's diary, which Lucius then gave to Dobby, essentially giving Dobby an item of clothing, which frees a house-elf. 7 Free Elf
This tattoo of Dobby, done by Codey, is incredibly detailed and shows Dobby's features so well! The tattoo also has the words, "Free elf," written underneath Dobby's portrait, and these words, as any devoted fan knows, were extremely important to this character.
Dobby was treated very badly by his masters, The Malfoys, and his desire to be a free elf was strong. After Dobby was freed by Harry Potter, he was eager to announce his freedom at any given time, which is why this tattoo of Dobby is such a perfect reflection of this character!
6 Here Lies Dobby
This sweet tattoo is sad but heartwarming. The tattoo, done by Jim Burton, shows Dobby's resting place and gravestone. This gravestone and resting place was important to the film, as Harry Potter insisted on using no magic and digging Dobby's grave himself. This moment from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was one that all fans remember as being incredibly sad. The tattoo shown here is a sad tribute, and any devoted fan of the Harry Potter series will definitely recognize this weapon as the one that sealed Dobby's fate. 2 Wearing Hermione's Hats
One of the sweetest moments Dobby had in the series, was from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. When Hermione founded S.P.E.W, she grew incredibly dedicated to freeing house-elves and started knitting the Hogwarts elves scarves and hats. Most of the elves were not interested in her attempts to free them and ignored her creations. After noticing this, Dobby took all of them for her, wearing all of them on his body, which is accurately represented in this tattoo. Since Dobby was a house-elf, the rules for his magic didn't apply for him the same way as they did for wizards.
