PETER Kay will return to TV for first time in two years for BBC charity show The Big Night In.
Comic Lenny Henry announced the exciting news on tonight’s The One Show ahead of a star-studded event.
Children in Need and Comic Relief are working together for the three-hour show to raise the nation’s spirit amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Comedian Peter is returning to provide some much-needed laughs on April 23 from 7pm.
Lenny told The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Alex Scott: “Children in Need and Comic Relief are merging for the very first to time to raise money and raise spirits.
“We’ve got special guests, some famous faces. I can tell you today that Peter Kay is joining us.
“Catherine Tate and Gary Barlow, with lots of musical guests.
“It’s going to be a fantastic night. we want to cheer people up in this terrible crisis.
“Even if you can’t donate, just watch because it’ll cheer you up.”
Last month Peter Kay was forced to postpone his much-anticipated Dance For Life comeback due to the coronavirus crisis.
The popular comedian, 46, announced the news on his website and promised the shows will go ahead at a later date.

He wrote: “Obviously this is disappointing news but well and truly justified given the circumstances.
“We’ll get through this, together and then we’ll all have a great big dance for life.
“Stay safe and look after yourselves and the people around you.”
It was a further blow to fans who were left devastated when Peter pulled out of his UK tour three years ago for “family reasons”.
