Stock market today: Wall Street drifts near its records in another quiet day of trading
U.S. stocks are drifting around their record levels as Wall Street appears to be headed for another quiet day. The S&P 500 rose 0.1% Tuesday and is on track to beat its record set last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 35 points, and the Nasdaq composite rose 0.1% a day after setting an all-time high. Treasury yields fell in the bond market as hopes remain high that an easing of inflation will convince the Federal Reserve to cut its main interest rate later this year. Stock indexes fell across much of Europe and Asia.
