British man dies and several passengers are injured when turbulence hits a Singapore Airlines flight
Singapore Airlines says a 73-year-old British man has died and more than two dozen other passengers were injured aboard a London-Singapore flight that encountered severe turbulence. The plane was diverted to Bangkok, where emergency crews rushed to help the passengers on Tuesday. Singapore’s Flight SQ321 from Heathrow landed at 3:45 p.m. local time at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The airline said the aircraft was a Boeing 777-300ER with a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew on board. Singapore Airlines said that as of four hours after the emergency landing, 18 individuals remained in hospital. Another 12 were treated on outpatient basis. The British man who died is suspected to have suffered a heart attack.
