Hydrotherapy for man’s best friend now available in Malta

Times of Malta

Taking dogs for a dip in a heated pool can extend their lifespan by a number of years, according to veterinary physiotherapist Rebecca Gatt. But before rushing with your dog to the nearest heated pool for hydrotherapy – a form of physiotherapy carried out in water – a series of steps are necessary for it to be effective. “I start by speaking to the dog’s vet, to make sure I have all the information. Then I assess them and get a history of what happened if there had been an injury. Sometimes the dog... Читать дальше...

Brexit will trigger new Scottish independence referendum

Times of Malta

A vote to leave the EU against Scotland's will would "almost certainly" trigger another independence referendum, Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has warned. Ms Sturgeon said there would be an "inescapable" shift in public opinion towards independence to guarantee Scotland's continued EU membership. And it is "inevitable" that people who voted No in 2014 would change their minds, she added. She also warned leaving the EU would see the Conservative government "unfettered" to water down UK employment rights and social protections. Читать дальше...

Muscat 'immensely disappointed' by Church committee report on conversion therapy for gay people

Times of Malta

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said today that he was immensely disappointed by comments by the committee which advised the Church on conversion therapy for gay people. It was unbelievable, he said, that in this day and age, some people thought that sexual orientation was something that could be healed by medication and therapy. This was an offence to the gay community and all those who wanted to live in a European society which respected the people's freedom. It was a similar offence to link homosexuality with child abuse.
