Pakistan offers India ‘unhindered’ access to Jadhav

Digital payments exceed ATM withdrawals

There are early signs that India is finally turning into a digital payment economy less dependent on cash. For the first time, in the fourth quarter of 2019, the value of card and mobile payments at Rs 10.57 lakh crore exceeded ATM withdrawals which amounted to Rs 9.12 lakh crore. Card and mobile payments are now at Rs 10.97 lakh crore, even as ATM withdrawals declined 5% to Rs 8.66 lakh crore.



PM Modi calls for ‘reformed multilateralism’ at UN

India to create its first overseas oil stockpile in US

India is moving to store oil in the US, the first time world’s third-largest oil guzzler is creating an emergency reserve abroad to take advantage of low prices and guard against possible supply disruptions. “We have signed an MoU to begin co-operation on strategic petroleum reserves. We are also in an advanced stage of discussion for storing crude oil in US," said oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

This is a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in 375 volunteers, sources said. India's first indigenous Covid-19 vaccine initiated phase-1 clinical trials on July 15.
