Armenia acquired Russian ballistic missile thanks to Eurasian partnership – Russian expert
Armenia’s Armed Forces acquired the Russian ballistic missile Iskander thanks to Eurasian cooperation, says Aleksey Martinov, director of the Russia-based Institute for New States.
Speaking at a debate “Transcaucasus in Integration Projects: EEU or EU?”, the expert said he was very proud to see the powerful system displayed at the parade marking the 25th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Admitting that the centralization of weapons increases the risk of military aggression in the region, Martinov said he finds them to be also powerful tools of defense.
“We are living in times that require one to prove all the time that one is too powerful to be offended. And that’s, to an extent, the result of Eurasian partnership,” he noted.
