Armenian memorial stone unveiled in Tokyo to honor independence anniversary
A memorial plaque dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence was unveiled in Tokyo, Japan on Friday to honor the two countries’ developing relations and friendship.
The Cross-Stone of Friendship, erected in the city’s Shiroyama Garden, also symbolizes the 24th anniversary of the Armenian-Japanese diplomatic relations, reports the Foreign Ministry’s press service.
In an opening speech at the event, Armenian Ambassador to Japan Hrant Poghosyan described the monument as a special emblem signifying the deepening and broadening bilateral relations.
The ceremony was attended by officials from the Japan’s Foreign Ministry, Armenian community representatives and other honored guests.
