Armenia’s young generation highly patriotic – minister
Our young generation’s patriotic upbringing is on a sufficiently high level today, Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan said as he met with students of the Yerevan State University (YSU).
Highly appreciating the opportunity of meeting with young generation representatives, Ohanyan highlighted particularly the importance of debates on military service and armed forces in educational institutions. He said that they actively cooperate with different universities whose students have their internship at the Ministry of Defense.
YSU President Aram Simonyan also evaluated their joint activities with the Ministry as very effective.
The Armenian young soldier’s brevity and patriotic spirit was reflected also during the heavy fighting over Karabakh in April, the minister added. “During the military operations in April, many young Armenians stood out with their heroic conduct. Many of those heroes are now here in this hall. They are the heroes who, despite their physical difficulties, continue studying and educating themselves, because we build our future on ensuring reasonable defense and our country’s security, not on using physical violence,” he said, adding that the ministry conducted proper analysis after the four-day war to evaluate the existing pluses and minuses.
