Criminal case launched over public unrest in Yerevan
Armenia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case over the late Thursday public unrest which saw policemen clash with a crowd in a Yerevan street leading to the seized police headquarters.
Out of 28 people taken to police stations on suspicion of direct involvement in the clashes, sixteen are detained as of 8:00 Yerevan time.
In a press release, the Committee says that the necessary emergency and search operations have been undertaken to resolve all the circumstances behind the incident and clarify the framework of all the participants. Footages featuring the disorders have been downloaded for a further probe.
