Names & Faces: Condoleezza Rice, David Ortiz
The former secretary of state attended the 49ers’ practice Monday in Santa Clara and briefly spoke to the team at the end of the morning session.
During her visit, head coach Chip Kelly, general manager Trent Baalke and team President Al Guido spoke with Rice, 61, an avid football fan who is part of the 13-member College Football Playoff selection committee.
Rice, who watches more than 10 college games a week, once said that serving as NFL commissioner would be her dream job.
At least that’s the idea behind a Boston Public Schools initiative that starts next month, when middle- and high-school students will be able to sign up for wake-up calls from Big Papi.
