LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police in Los Angeles say one person is hurt after an officer opened fire following a report of an attempted robbery at a Walgreens in East Hollywood. The LAPD tells KNBC-TV (http://bit.ly/2aMDeuN) officers responded to the store at Sunset Boulevard and Western Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday. The station says one person was hit after an officer opened fire. The person was taken to a hospital and survived. No police were hurt. The cause of the shooting is under investigation. Media outlets report online records show that 21-year-old Skyler Barnett was arrested Friday on unlawful transaction with a minor and drug charges. Whitley County Coroner Andy Croley says deputies were serving a warrant at Barnett's home that night when they found Kayly Lockaby's body in some nearby woods.

BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Police Department has unveiled an $89,000 ice cream truck as the newest addition to its patrol fleet. The truck, adorned with balloons and Boston police decals, was introduced Monday at police headquarters in the city's Roxbury neighborhood.

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A woman who pointed a gun at police serving arrest warrants at her apartment was shot and killed by officers in a shooting that also left a 5-year-old boy wounded, Baltimore County police said.
