Fighter jets intercept 4 planes in Super Bowl no-fly zone A fourth plane has been added to the list of errant aircraft that violated air space restrictions over the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, one more than was reported Sunday, federal aviation officials said Monday. The four aircraft all flew into restricted areas in the “outer ring” of the closed-off zone, which was between 10 and 32 miles from Levi’s Stadium, said Ian Gregor, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration.

History shows there’s wisdom in that approach, but the Broncos showed there’s more than one way to win at title. The Giants are adding another statue celebrating their pantheon of Hall of Famers. The club announced Monday that on Aug. 13 it will unveil a statue of pitcher Gaylord Perry, who won 134 games for the Giants to start a 22-year major-league career that resulted in his 1991 Hall of Fame induction. The guess here is the statue will not include a water feature.

A landscaper in San Francisco’s Cole Valley neighborhood dug up a surprise Sunday morning when he unearthed a grenade while working in the garden of a house being prepped for sale, authorities said. Around 11:15 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Carl Street, near Cole Street, after the landscaper reported he had found the potentially-explosive device, said Officer Albie Esparza, a police spokesman. Officials weren’t sure how the grenade came to be buried in the yard and it was unclear whether the item was real or fake, Esparza said.

Victim stripped of his pants in SF street mugging Around 5:10 a.m., the victim was approached by two men, both in their early- to mid-30s, near the corner of 18th and Capp streets and propositioned for a drink, said Officer Albie Esparza, a police spokesman. After knocking the victim down, the assailants stripped the man of his pants, which contained his cell phone, wallet, passport and some cash, before fleeing the scene.

Wymore/Blue Springs Area Development group vice president Dale Crawford says the group is organizing as an affiliate of the Nebraska Community Foundation, a statewide organization helping communities develop improvement programs, including fiance, strategy and training. A state appeals court ruled prosecutors should have first determined how much pure cocaine the suspect had instead of sentencing him based on the weight of the entire amount. Defense attorneys argued the cocaine may have included filler material such as baking soda.

The Senate Governmental Affairs Committee on Tuesday will hold a public hearing on the bill titled the "Alabama Heritage Protection Act." The bill would ban the removal of any historic monument, marker or school name from public property unless a waiver is obtained from the Legislative Council, a committee of lawmakers.
