University president named chancellor of Johnson and Wales
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island university has made an announcement about its leadership. The president of Johnson and Wales University's Providence campus has been named the next chancellor of Johnson and Wales University.
The Providence Journal reports Tuesday that Mim Runey will become the university's third chancellor Oct. 1. She is replacing John Bowen, who announced he was retiring early this year.
Runey has served as president of the university's Providence campus and chief operating officer for the university system since 2011.
She says she is "honored" to lead the institution during a time of "rapid change in higher education."
Johnson and Wales has campuses in North Miami, Denver and Charlotte.
