Energy Express students perform their take on classic books
BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) — Parents and loved ones packed tightly into Beckley Elementary School Tuesday morning to take in all the hard work their children put in to this year's Energy Express program in Raleigh County.
While hallways were decked out in bright colors, students stood before a rainbow-parachute backdrop dressed in costumes they customized themselves as they prepared to put on shows based on books they read this summer.
Books of choice for Tuesday's shows included We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Three Little Pigs, Chrysanthemum, Children Make Terrible Pets and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
