Police investigate church vandalism in Utah community
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (AP) — Four churches in a suburb of Salt Lake City have been vandalized on four consecutive nights and police are looking for the person or people who are responsible for the damage.
Cottonwood Heights police Lt. Dan Bartlett says that since Monday, four churches have had rocks propelled through their front glass doors, possibly with the use of a wrist-rocket.
He tells the Deseret News there's no evidence that the perpetrator has tried to enter any of the churches or steal any property.
Bartlett also says there isn't enough evidence to call them hate crimes.
All the churches are meetinghouses of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
