Stocks around the world plunged Friday as investors feared that a trade conflict between the U.S. and China, the biggest economies in the world, would escalate. WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Thousands of people protested in Warsaw and other cities across Poland on Friday against the conservative government's latest attempt to restrict abortion. Many also voiced broad anger at the ruling Law and Justice party, which has been accused by domestic critics and international bodies of eroding democracy and civic freedoms. "This is against attempts at taking away our right to decide what we want," said Paulina Rudnik, a 44-year-old lawyer at the Warsaw protest.

A passenger who was bumped off a full flight has scored the maximum prize — a $10,000 travel voucher. A spokesman for United Airlines confirmed Friday that a passenger got the big voucher, but he didn't name the person. In a series of tweets, Allison Preiss of Washington, D.C., says she was rewarded after being asked to give up her seat. Eagles DE Bennett charged with injury to elderly paraplegic

HOUSTON (AP) — Authorities issued a warrant Friday for the arrest of Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett, accused of injuring a paraplegic woman as he tried get onto the field at last year's Super Bowl to celebrate with his brother. The Harris County district attorney's office said the warrant was issued after a grand jury indicted Bennett on a felony count of injury to the elderly. Army seeks changes to chemical weapons disposal in Colorado

HOUSTON (AP) — The number of rigs exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. increased by five this week to 995. That exceeds the 809 rigs that were active this time a year ago. Houston oilfield services company Baker Hughes reported Friday that 804 rigs drilled for oil this week and 190 for gas. One was listed as miscellaneous. Shares of Dropbox surge in first day of trading

The San Francisco company was offering about 26.8 million shares of stock at $21 apiece, while selling shareholders were offering about 9.2 million shares. Fallout from cyberattack on Atlanta computers still unclear
