GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK, Texas (AP) — A single-engine airplane has crashed near the highest peak in Texas, causing an explosion and scattering debris across an area half a mile wide. Elizabeth Jackson, a spokeswoman for Guadalupe Mountains National Park, says the plane went down late Tuesday afternoon in a rugged area near Guadalupe Peak where motorized vehicles are prohibited and that is accessible only by foot.

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Shares of Dow Chemical and DuPont are trading sharply higher amid reports that the two chemical giants are in advanced merger discussions.
