Offense giving Shittu, No. 8 Cardinal defense a rest

«Seattle Post-Intelligencer» (seattlepi.com)

(AP) — Defensive end Aziz Shittu plays more than his coaches would like and he welcomes the opportunity. Shittu has a secret weapon for staying rested though and it's the Cardinal offense. Stanford could get some relief up front with the possible return of senior outside linebacker Kevin Anderson, who has missed five games with an unspecified injury. Active in pass coverage, he's also an effective pass rusher. RB Christian McCaffrey, the national leader in all-purpose yards, is physically holding up. Читать дальше...

The eighth-ranked Cardinal took care of their end of the bargain last week by rolling over Washington to maintain a comfortable lead in the Pac-12 North. Lower airfare? Great for consumers, but investors worried

«Seattle Post-Intelligencer» (seattlepi.com)

Last week, American Airlines executives said they will soon introduce a cheaper, no-frills type of ticket to compete with Spirit and another low-cost carrier, Frontier. American executives said they need to fight for customers who just want a cheap fare and don't care about earning miles, getting upgrades or having a seat that will lie flat. On Tuesday, CEO Ben Baldanza said Spirit can hold on to its bargain-hunting passengers because his airline has lower costs than American or Delta Air Lines, which already offers a no-frills fare option.
