As a pretty young guy myself I can sympathise with you Mrs M. However there are probably only 6-8 of us on here that follow the academy games and school rugby will be even more of a niche subject, hence the topic drift. I don't recall any of the shows that they are talking about as its well before my time, but I suspect you would need the services of a reputable necromancer to get a glimpse of some of the young girls that they are banging on about. As it stands I’d fancy you have more chance of staying in SL than Castleford, they have done nothing since the last time we had licensing

I saw plenty of play go on the right tracks however it always seemed to be angled runs back towards midfield. Newman strangely took a few runs away from the edges. I actually thought had Wellsby not fluffed a few clear overlaps on the left edge there could have been a few more try’s.
Just getting round to watching this and i LOVE something Wane just said.
He was asked "Are you forgiving of youngsters if they make mistakes?"
Wane- "No, i want them to play, i need to win".
I'm hoping this is an attitude Burgess can instill across the whole team

Applegarth follows a near on 60 year tradition of coaches who most fans were glad to see the back of.
Trying to think of ones who bucked that trend I came up with Ray Batten for certain and possibly Andy Kelly who was stitched up by Ted and Pearman. I have a slight feeling that when Len Casey left to return to Hull we might have been sorrowful too?

I don't want someone who has recently, publicly, declared his hate for us! If I was even another team's supporter I wouldn't want someone so biased commentating.

Trust me the lad can play. He has bags of potential but he is very raw.
He will really come on at Wigan.
His offload is a very good weapon.
He is the style of player we hoped Kabula could have been had he more athleticism.
The year in our favour makes sense

Faz I do feel could make that next World Cup. They’d need to gain his thoughts I guess but he’s 33 and will be 36 when that is played. You would possibly rule out many forwards at that age but he’s a physical freak and I could see him still playing to a really high level at that point. He’s been criminally underused in international rugby league and I was surprised that continued yesterday. He is a better player than Whitehead or Bateman IMO and just because he didn’t... Good top that , as fans we do do need to accept the traditional cherry n white hoops are gone ( tiny chance maybe if magic weekend was to carry on ) doesn't have to be liked but unfortunately there was no chance everyone was going to be pleased .Going off the numbers that have been reported of last season's merchandise then it's only good news for the club that the rebrand was such a success.

What can fans do in their spare time now that the season is over. My suggestion and particularly for older fans is to consider writing a fictional novel that is based on what you know about your family history and where the main character is a rugby league fan.
Not only have I now written six novels all set in a fictional town that is set a few miles north of Widnes in a series that starts in the 1962/63 winter. I have also written three pages of general advice aimed at encouraging others do something similar. Читать дальше...
