I think we’re in for a really tough ride in the first 20/30 minutes at least. 16 of their 17 face the prospect of retiring a legend if they don’t run through brick walls and tackle for all they're worth. Wellens will have that ringing in their ears on the way onto the pitch, and the crowd will be foaming at the mouth having that force fed into them, as we’re already seeing on Sky Sports etc.

I’ve heard that we’re in talks with a massive halfback signing from Manly Sea Eagles, someone with a number of Australia caps.

That’s right, Cliff Lyons could be coming back for a third spell, and I’d bet he’d still be more effective than either of our first choice halfbacks were last season…

I think in a strange way, this game is the pressure game. We are at home and we are the highest placed qualifier for this round so you could argue we should be favourites. However we havent beaten York this year so clearly they know how to exploit our weaknesses.

If we manage to get a win on Sunday, expectations will be a lot lower and we will be massive underdogs whoever we face and therefore it's almost a free hit.

Following on from Beaumont's recent rant, there is a lot of talk and support for his breakaway competition. It amazes me how people think this is going to work, or even get any traction at all.

Will any clubs actually be willing to ostracise themselves from the RFL, and theoretically cut ties with the sport and all it's competitions? It would be highly unlikely that any clubs involved would be eligible for the Challenge Cup and 1895 Cup, possibly on a permanent basis.

I can't see any of the big clubs leaving the RFL anytime soon.

Mikey Lewis or Shaun Jonson my preferred choice for HB.
But the longer this goes on the longer I worry.
Unless we have signed someone who is playing in the play offs of course like a certain Mr Lewis.
