Rumours tonight that Marwan Koukash is going to invest in Bradford Bulls. From a latent fanbase perspective this would make much more sense than Salford. Living in the area I've also heard of reasonably advanced potential plans for the RFL to relocate to Odsal after they move from Red Hall. I think Bradford in their pomp brought a lot to the competition, including some impressive attendances. (average around 15,000 at their height). And whilst Koukash isn't everyone's cup of tea he does bring some ambition and different thinking to the table.

All the friendlies have been played who would you go with v HKR? I would go with a all forward bench for a game ‘in’ the North Sea in February

Had a couple of excellent ales in Warrington last night;

Belhaven Robert Burns Brown Ale 4.2% in the Looking Glass (had this before but not for a while).

Littleover Brewery The Panther 4.2%, an oatmeal stout not previously sampled, in Wilkies Tavern.

A few impressive performances in poor conditions. Hamlin the stand out for me but Sam was good too. We looked far more effective when he went into the halves though and it seems Escaré still has great pace which is a relief. FNP ran properly as did TT and Flower was strong on his return.
Not reading a lot into it in those conditions but happy to win a game we often lose in preseason. Lots to be positive about.

So after seeing our first squad back in action for the first time today what are peoples thoughts on the game. Felt good to finally get a result at LSV pre season..

Gabe Hamlin.. Wow didn't he impress on debut..hard running, hard hitting and can score a try..impressed and hopefully see a lot more of him through the seaon

Romain Naverrette...Also impressed put in some big hits and made some decent yardage

Sam Tomkins...Looking great in attack, kicking goals and scored a Try himself

Interesting possibilities, he certainly does have a very good track record at promoting sports. Something our game has been lacking in for many years.

Conditions meant that we weren’t going to get great handling rugby. Both sides looked a little rusty at times.

Positives: That pack will take some stopping this season. Everyone put in a shift. Hall looks solid at fullback. Halfback partnership looks good. Plenty of options in the outside backs. Deseria (sic) will be good in dry fast conditions with his offload.

Negatives: Poor Pie following again. Acton will get another ban sooner than later, he obviously hasn’t learned his lesson. Читать дальше...

Tough game this one.
KR will be buoyed by a great crowd and first game back in the top flight.
Would have prefered them at our place and then East Hull later on in the season.

Let's hope we can catch 'em cold, before they get used to the pace of SL again.
Looking forward to this on and hopefully to another great season.
