Canadian cannabis media company HERB closed a $4.1 million seed round Tuesday in a bid to expand to the US and ramp up production of video content.

It's been a rough few months for Pakistani stocks.

The KSE-100 index has fallen by around 11% in August, after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was forced to resign on July 28 amid allegations of corruption.

Including the recent falls, Pakistani stocks have now lost almost 30% since reaching an all-time high above 53,000 at the end of May:

According to a report by Capital Economics, Pakistan has also come under more pressure from the US government for not doing enough to combat terrorism in neighbouring Afghanistan.

President Donald Trump appears to have bottomed out in the Gallup daily presidential tracking poll.

For the past eight days, Trump's approval rating in the poll has not risen above 35%, falling each day at either 35% or 34%, tied for the lowest mark of his presidency.

His disapproval mark over that stretch has stuck at either 59% or 60%, close to his presidential high of 61%.

Sarah Palin's defamation lawsuit against The New York Times was thrown out Tuesday by a federal judge.

The former Alaska governor had sued the newspaper this summer after its editorial board drew a link between an ad from her political action committee to the deadly shooting that left Rep. Gabby Giffords injured in 2011.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday called drug overdose deaths "the top lethal issue" in the US and urged law enforcement and social workers to "create and foster a culture that's hostile to drug use."

Sessions spoke to the annual conference of the National Alliance For Drug Endangered Children. He said preliminary data show nearly 60,000 overdose deaths in the US in 2016, the highest ever.

August 29 marks the 12th anniversary of when Hurricane Katrina pummeled New Orleans in 2005. Now Hurricane Harvey is advancing through Louisiana, 

Katrina, one of five of the deadliest storms in United States history, killed over 1,800 people as flood walls and levees failed. The hurricane started over the Bahamas on August 23. It then headed westward toward Mississippi, Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, and southeast Louisiana.

Social media lit up on Tuesday after a reporter posted a picture on Twitter that showed a Best Buy in Texas charging $42 for a case of Dasani water.

The picture also showed the price for a case of Smartwater at $29, with a sign noting there was a "limited supply."

President Donald Trump seemed pleased to see hundreds of supporters gathered during his trip to Texas to survey the damage of Hurricane Harvey.

The president climbed atop a platform between two fire trucks to address the few hundred supporters who had gathered outside of a Corpus Christi fire station where Trump met with emergency and government officials on Tuesday.
