Here's how Pinterest played a huge role in Meghan's royal wedding prep

Planning a wedding is an extremely stressful ordeal nowadays. Should you go for roses or lilies? Band or DJ? Salmon or chicken? And let’s not even get started on the selection of bridesmaids – and actually managing to keep them as friends afterwards.

There is an unbelievable pressure on everything to be perfect and to keep up with the most recent wedding trends – how could there not be with a couple of hundred guests rocking up to judge it.

Now let’s elevate the stress and prep to Meghan Markle’s scale, with her royal wedding raking in 1.9 billion viewers last year. That’s a lot of pressure.

It’s hardly surprising therefore that she reportedly got into Pinterest to prep for the big day, with the now Duchess of Sussex apparently using the platform to pick her make up look.

Celebrity make up artist (and close friend of Meghan), Daniel Martin, recently opened up about helping the royal select her beauty look for the big day, and then carry it out.

‘I didn’t have a makeup trial with her because we couldn’t make the time,’ he explained on a recent episode of Gloss Angeles, going on to tell the beauty podcast: ‘I knew what she liked and didn’t like. We exchanged a Pinterest pictures over text.’

Going on to talk about wedding make up in general, he continued: ‘I feel like you can’t stray too far from who you want to be and who you are because the last thing you want to do is look at these pictures and think, “I was not comfortable looking like that.” You still have to have a sense of who you are.’

When going back to talk about doing Meghan’s wedding make up, Daniel explained that it was ‘like a friend asking [him] to do her wedding’, recalling how they didn’t realise quite how iconic the moment was until they saw the crowds afterwards.

‘We had our phones off,’ he explained. ‘We didn’t know what was happening outside. It was a moment in time that I’m always going to have. But I have to be honest, it’s kind of a blur because so much happened in that 15 hours.’

And how was Meghan to work with? According to Daniel, ‘the most chill person’, going on explain, ‘that morning was just easy. Nothing phased us. She’s still the same person.’
