Meghan Markle has plans to write a children's book

Is there anything Meghan Markle can’t do? From guest-editing magazines to launching a fashion line for Smart Works, a charity which helps unemployed and disadvantaged women return to work, she has been very busy over the past eight months.

And she isn’t stopping there – she has now set her sights on becoming an author.

According to The Sunday Times, Meghan reportedly plans to pen a story for young children inspired by the pet dogs she shares with husband, Prince Harry.

When she made the move to the UK, the Duchess of Sussex brought her rescue dog – a beagle named Guy – with her, although she couldn’t bring her second dog Bogart, a Labrador-German Shepherd mix, overseas due to his deteriorating health.

However, the couple did welcome another rescue into the Sussex fold although they’ve been very tight lipped about their newest pup. While many believed that the dog Harry once took to work is the canine in question, the pair has insisted that everyone is constantly getting it wrong when it comes to the deets about their dog.

Meghan and Harry are also reportedly looking for a rescue dog for their son, Archie, as they want him to grow up with a pet pooch of his own.

With all these pooches running around Frogmore Cottage, it’ll be easy enough to draw doggy inspiration from the pack of pups.

If Meghan does decide to write a children’s book, she won’t be the first royal to do so. Her father-in-law, Prince Charles, wrote The Old Man of Lochnagar in 1980 and the former Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, wrote Budgie the Little Helicopter in 1989.

One thing’s for sure – the Meghan Markle effect is real and everything that the Duchess puts her name to becomes an instant sell-out hit, so if she does release a children’s book we’re certain it will fly off the shelves.
