[Women's Basketball] Asst. WBB Coach Long tabbed as Head Coach for 19U team at United World Games
LAURINBURG, NC- It was announced Wednesday that St. Andrews University Assistant Women's Basketball Coach, Kelsey Long, was named as the new head coach for the 19 and Under team for USA StudentAthlete World at the 2017 United World Games in June.
The United World Games is the largest youth tournament in Europe and will take place June 19-28, 2017 (Tournament is June 22-25) in Germany, Austria, and Italy. The Host City is Klagenfurt, Austria.

As a young collegiate coach that has risen quickly up the ranks, Long has spent time as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Queens University of Charlotte, including a short stint as the Acting Head Women's Basketball Coach while in transition.
Coach Long jumpstarted her career with a pair of internships while in college, one at Belmont Abbey College (N.C. Division II) and the other at North Carolina State University (NCAA Division I). She has been heavily involved in working basketball camps at prestigious basketball powerhouses (e.g., Kentucky, NC State, Charlotte Hornets, UNC Charlotte, etc.) and with community outreach programs such as Samaritan's Feet and Play 4 Kay.
Coach Long was an outstanding student-athlete at Belmont Abbey, where she was an All-Conference player, served as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and received various Conference Carolinas awards and honors for her academics and sportsmanship. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management with two Minors in Business Administration and Psychology. She will earn her Master's Degree this Fall from Queens University of Charlotte in Communications.
